Cross-Head Feeders for Multihead Weighers Reduce Overages and Optimize Speed
ShareShareShareShareShare

PROEX FOOD adds a new productivity tool to their Vibratory Solutions products with their Cross-Head Feeders. These are must-haves for IQF/Frozen Food processors using multihead weighing systems.PROEX FOOD Cross-Head Feeders convey and distribute product to the intake area of amultihead weighing system, commonly at or above the top cone. Product drops from a Feederthrough a carefully designed circular discharge to the weighing system. This specific discharge transition better meters product and spreads it more evenly across individual weigh cells.

Daniel Ghadiri, President and CTO at PROEX FOOD, explains: “PROEX FOOD Cross-Head Feeders help processors reduce overages required to meet minimum weights while optimizing the packaging line. Calculations performed show they achieve an average of
97.8% accuracy of target weight. This vastly outperforms other systems such as straightdischarges and belts, which only archive an average of 79% accuracy. Simply through reduced product waste, these high-value conveyors pay for themselves quickly, and that is before complementary speed, efficiency and hygiene improvements.”
