The luck of the earth… The Animal Hall at Grüne Woche in January will be all about horses – but friends of cattle, goats, dogs and co. can also look forward to numerous animal encounters from 17 – 26 January 2025.

From Black Forest coldbloods to tiny Shetland ponies – one animal focus of Grüne Woche 2025 will be on horses. With the FN Federal Cold Blood Show on the first weekend (17 – 19 January), the Federal Stallion Show of Fjord Horses on Monday (20 January) and the Hippologica on the second Grüne Woche weekend (24 – 26 January), horse lovers young and old will get their money’s worth. More than 150 horses will be on show in Animal Hall 25 at Grüne Woche and will be demonstrating their jumping, dressage and carriage driving skills on the second weekend. All information about Hippologica can be found here on the website.

Focus on animal welfare

Visitors to the animal hall in 2025 will be able to find out about the different ways in which cattle are kept. In addition, the animal welfare centre, which celebrated its premiere last year, will be enlarged once again. Not only will cattle be kept in the larger enclosure and can retreat to the rear area at any time, but some of the horses will also be on display in the open paddock at the upcoming Grüne Woche.

Mooing, barking and meowing at Grüne Woche

In addition to horses, other domestic and farm animal breeds will also be making their grand entrance at Grüne Woche 2025. Visitors can look forward to meeting donkeys, goats, sheep, cattle, mules and rabbits in Hall 25. In Hall 26, dogs, cats, terrarium and aquarium inhabitants and beehives await visitors. Various breeds of dogs and cats will be presented on the action area in the pet area (Hall 26) and the animals can be experienced up close. In the large demonstration ring in animal hall 25, visitors can look forward to an entertaining animal show programme three times a day.
